2019 LANCASHIRE YEAR BOOK
The 82nd edition of the Lancashire Year Book runs to 272 pages and is packed with a comprehensive review, including match reports, scorecards and averages of the 2018 season, while our comprehensive records section has been thoroughly revised and updated.
Among the features we recall the drama of Lancashire’s three previous tied games following last season’s tie at Taunton. It is fifty years since Lancashire’s first one-day success and we tell the story of how Jack Bond’s side won the 1969 Player’s County League title, and track events from 150 and 100 years ago including the first batsman to score a century at Old Trafford. Author Philip Paine takes a look at little-known career of Lancashire and England cricketer Sandford Schultz, and there is a preview Geoff Ogden’s forthcoming book Born In Bolton detailing the careers of those Boltonians who have played first-class cricket.
England’s matches at Emirates Old Trafford are covered in detail, and we look forward to 2019 with two special features on famous Ashes Tests and recall the previous World Cup matches played at Emirates Old Trafford.
